Aberdeen FC Player of the Year Awards
A reminder of what great relationships look like

I left the Aberdeen FC Player of the Year Awards with a simple thought: this is what it looks like when it’s done well.

It was a fantastic evening - brilliantly run, great atmosphere, and a real sense of pride in the room. But what stood out to me wasn’t the stage or the awards.
It was what was happening around the tables.
Throughout the night, there was a steady flow of guests coming over to speak with Justin and April. Not out of obligation - because they wanted to. It was clear the regard they’re held in across Aberdeen and the wider community.

One conversation in particular captured it perfectly. Colin spoke openly about his relationship with Justin, saying:
“My wife and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with our money.”
He went on to talk about how Justin has always been there, how responsive he is, and the professionalism he brings. It wasn’t rehearsed or prompted - just a genuine reflection of trust built over time.

That’s the real takeaway.

Not the event itself, but what it represents. The consistency, the responsiveness, the relationships that are built quietly over years — and only really revealed in moments like this.

It was a great evening. But more importantly, it was a powerful reminder of the standard we’re aiming for.

I felt very privileged to be there. Congratulations to the team.
